2015 Valco Baby Snap Duo Review!

I’m laughing to myself right now because I’m embarrassingly excited to write this review. I’ve been waiting to long to review the Valco Snap Duo. The second I saw it, I was just so happy for YOU GUYS. I get e-mailed daily from parents all over the world stressing over double strollers. I honestly believe that the Snap Duo does it all without sacrificing what we love so much about the Snap line- it’s lightness.

There are similar strollers on the market, but the weight of them is absurd. Being a mother of 2+ children shouldn’t mean that we have to break our backs daily. Weighing in at under 24 pounds, it’s lighter then most of the single strollers I’ve tested.

That crazy princess in there likes to sit back with her feet up (you know after a long day of napping and coloring on the walls) so the adjustable foot rest is awesome. One child can put their feet up while your older one can put it all the way down so their legs can rest comfortably. Double win.

As much as I love Valco Baby, I know that they love me even more. How do I know this? Because their always putting EXTRA large baskets on all their strollers, and that will always be a key factor to gaining a spot in my ROLLHERSTROLLER heart. What can I fit in there? I don’t know, pretty much all the random stuff that magically appears throughout my day. Diaper bag, purse, 3 jackets, shopping bags, mickey mouse dolls- you name it, it’s probably in there. (p.s- notice that awesome peek a boo window? Read on).

The Snap Duo has two independant canopies, each have a velcro peek a boo window. It rolls up and a toggle keep it out of the way looking neat (photo in the paragraph above). The window is made out of mesh material which is always my favorite because it allows air to circulate on those hot days where you need to hide them from the sun but need them to get some air.

Side note- how much do you love this tailored material?! It’s a grey marl color which is one of my favorite fabrics out there. I love the grey because it’s very hard to find a gorgeous grey color in the stroller world, and Valco nailed it. It gender neutral so no matter what combination you got- it works!

The independent canopies on the Snap Duo are AWESOME! Extra long, to moderate coverage to full back exposure, you got it all. You can zipper up the middle section to keep it neat when not in use. It’s very sturdy material so it won’t get bunched up and messy looking. I also like to use the little zipper section as my personal pouch. I store my wallet and keys in there and zip it up. I went to a few amusement parks keeping my things in there while we went on rides, and it’s the perfect hiding spot (unless I just exposed my secret to all you amusement park thieves that read my blog).

Both seats recline independantly. You can have your little baby reclined fully and take a nice nap, and have your toddler upright at the same time. Recline is easy, just pull back the lever with one hand and you’re good to go.

Folding the stroller is so simple (again, I love you Valco Baby)- On the side of the stroller there’s a little grey button (safety button) you just click it down and push the lever on the handlebar and the stroller folds  forward in half- easy as that. The inside of the stroller where your child sits is folded on the inside so it won’t get dirty from folding it on the floor, or keeping it out. Love that. Not many stroller companies think of that! Never realized how important it was until I recently dropped a different stroller in wet grass while carrying it into my house- the seat was grossly wet and dirty.

The seats are so comfortable, they have a nice layer of padding, and my kids really enjoy being strolled in it. My 2 year old daughter has tons and tons of room in her seat. My 4 year old son fits great and still has more room to grow (he’s 40 pounds and very tall for his age). It’s really the type of stroller that will always have it uses, especially if you’d like to have more children, you can use it for years and years, it really has it all.

(Here you can see how much room my daughter has)

(And there’s my son in the seat- roomy right!?)

They both fit comfortably with their bulky winter jackets with no complaints. (I crack up from her legs sprawled out.)

The maneuverability of the stroller is excellent, even with two kids in the seats and a fully packed storage basket. And no flat tires! Woohoo!!!

I was not compensated for this review, it is my honest opinion of the Valco Snap Duo 2- it’s really just that good you guys. If you are in the market for a side by side double stroller this will NOT disappoint you in any way. It’s a double stroller that truly truly truly has everything you could ever need and MORE. It is also beautiful and has a more modern, sleek look to it.  It should come out by the end of May, and you can check out their website to see the other colors and specs. Comment below if you have any questions! But I really do believe this is the stroller for any mom/dad who needs a side by side option. Lightweight, easy to maneuver, huge basket, fully reclining seats, independent large canopies and more! A+++ in the ROLLHERSTROLLER books.

Is there a place for your 4 year old to rest his feet or do they just dangle there?

What terrain is this stroller meant for? Would it do good on dirt and grass? Does it have any suspension in the wheels? i have a 30 pound 2.5 year old and a 20 pound 8 months old.. both really tall kids.. I am trying to decide between the bumbleride indie twin and the snap duo 2

Not sure if your question was answered yet if not they offer all terrain wheels for an additional cost

What i don’t realize is actually how you are not actually much more well-liked than you might be now. You are very intelligent. You realize thus siifangcintly relating to this subject, produced me personally consider it from a lot of varied angles. Its like women and men aren’t fascinated unless it is one thing to do with Lady gaga! Your own stuffs nice. Always maintain it up!1003

do you think this would work well for 4-mile walks (on sideways) fairly often? I mean a fast 4-mile walk, like done in an hour. thank you

Could you please answer what Inessa and Monica asked above?
I am also thinking either bumbleride indie twin or valco baby snap duo 2. With a 30 month old and 2 month old, I am looking to buy a side-by-side double stroller.
    Thanks.

I’m curious on which you decided. These are the two I’m trying to decide on

Hey Guys!! So sorry, having technical difficulties on my end, but I’m back!
@Monica, it will work great for long walks on sidewalks. If you’re jogging, no it’s not a jogging stroller.
@Inessa the Bumbleride is better for all terrain. The Snap Duo is not a jogging stroller, but it handles grass pretty well. It’s not going to glide smoothly over rocks and hard dirt might be more of a push for you.
@Vivian- depends on what you need it for. i love the Snap Duo for what it is- a great everyday stroller for a mom in the suburbs or city. IF you’re jogging on the beach, going on hikes and all that, an all terrain stroller might be better for you. The Snap Duo is great for walks, malls, in and out of the car, and every day errands. I love it!

    Hi,
Im debating between this stroller and the city mini g2.
Can you please help me? Thank you!

I’m totally obsessed with the snap duo, it weighs less, comes in stylish colors, and has a great storage basket!

Also wondering where the older child’s feet will rest.. Do they hit the wheel? Do they just hang or rest on something? Thanks!

And you mention the storage basket can fit a lot, but will the middle bar hinder a backpack diaper bag from fitting through?

How does this compare to the Valco Baby Zee two? I’m looking for a stroller for my tall 2 yo and my baby on the way….can’t decide on a stroller. The toddler does like to walk half of the time, but I don’t trust her in a sit and stand type of stroller.

When I went back in the blog archives & read your initial post re your 9/11 experience, I felt like I couldnt catch my breath. I could taste the ash in my mouth.  Your words were so real that I felt like I was there.I was living in the middle east when I heard about the attacks.  It’s been 10 years, and I sometimes still have a hard time processing what haapened.Plepse never stop telling your story ….

    Hi.
I was wondering a little more about the push of the stroller. I am looking for a double side by side for my 3 month old twin boys. I am looking for something light but very easy to push. My fear with this stroller is that it will get very hard to push once my boys get older. What do you think about that? I am back and forth between the valco baby snap duo and the citi mini gt.

    • Stevey   •

What did you end up deciding on between these two? I was between city mini gt, city mini and britax b agile doubles until I recently discovered this valco snap now I’m more confused than ever!

Does the bar in front of the kids come off? I find it harder to put them in and out of seat cause of it. Toddler likes to get in and out by himself also and bar would be in the way

Hi! I have a 3yr old and a 6month old. Im debating between the valco snap duo, the peg perego book for two, and the leg perego pliko mini twin. Plan on using it on regular terrain.
Suggestion on which to go with?
